Advanced Technology
Precision Dentistry
When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Mattison and staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care.
Our practice uses high power microscopes to enhance the precision of patient care.
Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using a microscope, Dr. Mattison is able to see details during operation that would otherwise be impossible to detect with dental loupes or the naked eye. This results in superior fit, finish and precision of dental work, leading to more beautiful, long-lasting smiles. Through the microscope, Dr. Mattison is also able to take pictures and videos of what he is seeing and doing during your treatment to show you later.
Electric handpieces provide our patients with quieter, more precise dentistry.
An improvement from the high-pitched air-driven handpieces of the past, electric handpieces yield more torque and cleaner dentistry.
Digital Imaging
Dr. Mattison chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. Radiographs allow us to see within the tooth to diagnose decay, periodontal disease, infections, and fractures. Our precise digital radiography allows us to easily catalogue your examinations for future reference.
Digital X-Rays:
Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT):
Also referred to as “Cone Beams”: we are proud to make 3D radiology available to our patients for enhanced diagnosis and treatment planning. CBCT can be used to diagnose infection, pathologies, tooth-related disease, jaw joint issues, and more. Furthermore, it is indispensable in planning and placing implants, as it tells Dr. Mattison exactly where there is adequate bone and space.
Digital Photography
Many of our patients find it easier to understand their oral health if we show them pictures.
Using high resolution DSLR cameras with specialized dental flashes, we are able to take clear pictures of teeth that show incredible detail. We use this not only to communicate issues to our patients, but also to work with out excellent laboratories in completing prosthetic treatment.
Intraoral Camera
Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.
Dr. Mattison utilizes Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations.
